d+s {save the date} video

Hi, it’s Shanna! For anyone who doesn’t know, I’m Dave’s fiancé.:) He so graciously agreed to let me blog about a fun project we worked on this winter – back when it was actually acceptable to be this cold. Snow in April – not cool. Snow in a fun alternative to the traditional “save-the-date” – pretty neat! Winter in South Dakota is plentiful and can be so beautiful {as long as you don’t have to go outside for 5 months}, and we wanted to showcase that!

David and I collaborated with a couple of our uber-talented friends to film a video and shoot some photos for our engagement. We had a great time and love the finished product! We were SO anxious to send them out to our friends and family. You can find a glimpse of the packaging below. We had to postpone the send date by a few days because we were waiting on tape. No, that tape isn’t even sealing the back. Yes, it’s just for looks. Yes, we’re a little ridiculous, I know. But, I got it here. I got the return address stamp here, and the d+s stamp here. David created all the DVD’s, and we got the pictures printed at a local print shop.

HUGE thank you to Brianne and Brent for all your help! We’re so glad you guys were there to help us out-even though I got us stuck in the snow {thanks to my dad for pulling us out!} and your feet nearly froze off.:) Enjoy!

Rachelle Hope || “Bring You Glory”

Last April we had the opportunity to sit down, and chat with musician Rachelle Hope. What a talented musician she is, with a true heart of Worship!
Well, it didn’t take much convincing to pursue a music video, so we began to scope out an awesome, rustic-vintage location for her shoot. We chose an open loft space over looking Phillips Ave. in downtown Sioux Falls, SD. Both Rachelle and her band made an evening out of it-and we came away with a spectacular video! Check it out, and then go to her website where you can find out more info on upcoming shows, and music!!

Dainty Obsessions \\ Black Hills Styled Shoot BTS

We have been absolutely in love with the styled shoots the crew over at Dainty Obsessions has been putting out for their 2nd issue.  We were invited out to the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota, to capture some Behind the Scenes clips from their latest styled shoot, which is actually also the cover shoot! Enjoy some awesome scenery and bubbly, feel good music in this video!

Eric + Sara || A Colorado wedding ||

Just recently we had the opportunity to travel to Colorado Springs, CO for a gorgeous DIY wedding, and absolutely had ha blast!! Eric & Sara celebrated their special day at a rustic lake setting, up in the mountains, as well as a posh, Victorian resort in Manitou Springs, CO.  We loved working with this couple, and enjoyed watching all the unique DIY accents of the day come together! (yes, Eric actually built the altar/ceremony pillars their vows were held under!)

Congrats to Eric & Sara on your amazing day, and all the best to you in your marriage!! Check out their recap trailer below, and be sure to look at some awesome images captured by Brianne Nichole Photography!

“I feel like a movie star” \\ Dave proposes to Shanna

As a cinematographer, my job is to tell people’s love stories- I’m around love/marriage/and “gushy stuff” a lot. But only once in a man’s life does he get to profess his love to the one who completes him, by “popping the question.”  This past weekend, I got said chance to truly tell my own love story with the girl of my dreams!  I could go on and on about what Shanna means to me, however, the video speaks a lot louder than any words on this blog can!
